Half Day Hikes
restore your body and steady your mind through intentional movement, reflection, and connection
What to Expect:
Time: 4.5 hours in either an AM or PM session. Sessions will run 8:00am-12:30pm and 1:00pm-5:30pm.
Where: Locations may include Devils Lake State Park, the UW Arboretum, or other state/county/city parks. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, and may need to purchase a vehicle admission pass to park at a Wisconsin State Park. Specifics will be included in event sign ups.
Who: A maximum of 8 and minimum of 3 participants, with 2 facilitators. All involved will be women/femme+ individuals 18 years or older.
What: Participants will hike, journal, and participate in group practices with the aim of learning more about themselves, each other, and the natural world. Practices may include learning and engaging in mindfulness techniques, body scans, breathing exercises, art as coping, interpersonal communication skills, grounding with our senses, practicing gratitude, and more. All activities will incorporate connection to the land, flora, and water around us, as well as intentional connection to our bodies. Specific activities are dependent on location, weather, and participant goals for their experiences. No prior hiking or wellness experience required.
Items to bring:
Participants must provide their own snacks, water, and journal, and a backpack comfortable and large enough to carry them for the duration of your session. Closed toe shoes are required. More information will be sent out upon sign up.
