Full Day Hiking Adventure
feel your feet meet the trail and notice as your breath syncs with the rhythm of movement, anchoring you in the present
What to Expect:
Time: 7 hour excursions from 9:00am-4:00pm. A group lunch will be had near 12:00pm.
Where: Locations may include Devils Lake State Park, Governor Dodge State Park, or other natural areas. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, and may need to purchase a vehicle admission pass to park at a Wisconsin State Park. Specifics will be included in event sign ups.
Who: A maximum of 8 and minimum of 3 participants, with 2 facilitators. All involved will be women/femme+ individuals 18 years or older.
What: Participants will hike, journal, and participate in group practices with the aim of learning more about themselves, each other, and the natural world. Practices may include learning and engaging in mindfulness techniques, naming and sharing experiences or feelings that arise, body scans, breathing exercises, art as coping, interpersonal communication skills, grounding with our senses, practicing gratitude, and more. All activities will incorporate connection to the land, flora, and water around us, as well as intentional connection to our bodies. Specific activities are dependent on location, weather, and participant goals for their experiences. No prior hiking or wellness experience required, though participants should be physically prepared to spend several hours walking/hiking throughout the day. We will return to base grounded and refreshed - more present in breath, body, and mind.
Items to bring:
Participants must provide their own lunch, snacks, water, and journal, and a backpack comfortable and large enough to carry them for the duration of your session. Closed toe shoes are required. More information will be sent out upon sign up.
